Ripple Road is a paved road on the east half of the road front and becomes a seasonal use dirt road on the west half of the road frontage. There is a snowplow turnaround along the road frontage near the mid-point so there is access during the winter. There is a driveway into the property and there is no gate on the access. The property is completely wooded and has been managed for long term timber production for decades. The forest is dominated by hard maple, soft maple, red oak and white ash with white oak, hemlock, black cherry and other hardwoods too. There is a nice distribution in medium to large sawtimber here and the forest looks great making this an excellent recreational and timberland investment property. There is no lack of deer sign on the property with some large rubs and scrapes found throughout. With plenty of mast on the property and agricultural fields on south boundary, there is plenty to keep them here and fed. This had been leased for hunting in the past but is not under lease now in order to sell the tract. It is also not hard to find plenty of turkey scratchings as you move through the forest. At the west end of the property there is a spectacular view to the north across the road of the valley below and the far hillside. This would be a great location for your future camp or seasonal retreat. The Whaupaunaucau State Forest is only 2 miles away offering an additional 1,188 acres for your hiking, hunting and outdoor recreational pleasure while the Chenango River is less than a mile away for some excellent fishing!
